The story follows the young woman whose goal in life is to make everyone around her happy and in love, bringing together the young people in her town and discovering the adventures that love brings.&nbsp;The Lord of the Rings&nbsp;J.R.R. Tolkien&#39;s book series has established itself as the main reference in fantasy works, both in literature and film. With the successful adaptation of the main trilogy, sequels and even parallel stories from the same universe have been adapted, not only into feature films but also into series.&nbsp;&nbsp;The Unbearable Lightness of Being&nbsp;Milan Kundera&#39;s novel follows the lives of 4 young people during the Prague Spring, two men and two women, focusing on the ideal of a better world and the eroticism that permeates their relationships. &nbsp;The original work was published in 1982 and its adaptation to the movies arrived shortly after, in 1988. Four years after the book was translated into English, the actors who make up the main cast are Juliette Binoche, Lena Olin, Daniel Day-Lewis, and Jean-Claude Carri&egrave;re.&nbsp;Alice&rsquo;s Adventures in Wonderland&nbsp;Popularly known as a Disney movie, many people are unaware that Alice&rsquo;s Adventures in Wonderland is actually a children&#39;s book created in 1862 by English writer Lewis Carol.&nbsp;Its engaging story of fantastic adventure charms children and adults alike and has become not only a screen success but also a worldwide pop culture phenomenon, with phrases and excerpts referenced in numerous other works.&nbsp;Pet SemataryThe king of modern horror, Stephen King has had many of his works brought to the screens, from films to series, the nightmares and bizarre aspects of his works have gained the affinity of film directors.&nbsp;With two adaptations to the screens, the first in 1989 and the second in 2019, Pet Sematary tells the story of the Creed family, who move to a house in the countryside and have their beloved pet cat run over. Moved by the event, they decide to bury the animal near the house, but they did not know that the place had already been a sacred Indian land and, after the burial, various bizarre events take over the family&rsquo;s life.Miss Peregrine&rsquo;s Home for Peculiar Children&nbsp;Drawing attention from the public for its picturesque photographs, Miss Peregrine&#39;s Home for Peculiar Children was initially conceived as a collection of photos collected by author Ransom Riggs, which became a narrative after the advice of a book editor.&nbsp;Set on an island in Wales, its narrative follows Jacob Portman as he searches for answers about his grandfather&rsquo;s past through photographs that lead him to a time loop containing an orphanage and its inhabitants.&nbsp;The Hunger Games&nbsp;Being another dystopia, The Hunger Games became one of the favorites of young adult literature in the 2010s, making Suzanne Collins&#39; trilogy not only awarded in the literary field, but also in the film industry.&nbsp;The story follows the lives of Peeta and Katniss, two young people who live in the poorest of 12 districts controlled by the Capital of Panem. The government promotes that two young people from each of the districts go to a battlefield to fight until their death, the televised event is the main setting of the plot.&nbsp;CoralineComic book writer Neil Gaiman&rsquo;s work charms its readers with its bizarre fantasy, with the constant feeling of strangeness, even the most mundane scenes of the work incite the need for the reader to remain alert as they turn the pages.&nbsp;In its adaptation for the cinema, made by the American studio Laika, Coraline and the Secret World became a beautiful stop motion animation that charmingly translates the sensation of fantastic strangeness and the tumultuous relationship of Coraline Jones with her parents.&nbsp;Love, SimonBeing the best-known book by author and psychologist Becky Albertalli, Love, Simon, or Simon VS. The Homo Sapiens Agenda is a light and fun young adult romance that follows a 16-year-old who prefers not to openly talk about his homosexuality.&nbsp;Simon&rsquo;s life is turned upside down when one of his classmates discovers his secret by reading his emails. So, let&#39;s talk a little bit more about that.As we discussed in part 1, dystopia is a fictional description of a reality that goes against the ideal society, utopia, and usually takes place in the future, wherein the State uses reason to spread violence and control masses to perpetuate inequality. The philosophical concept of dystopia was first used in 1865 by the philosopher John Stuart Mill, during a session of the British parliament, to refer to a reality opposed to utopia. In this sense, the dystopian reality becomes characterized by a pessimistic perspective of the world, filled with uncertainty regarding the future.The novel &quot;We&quot;, written by Yevgeny Zamyatin in 1920, in the newly formed Soviet Union, is considered the first science fiction story to address totalitarian dystopias. In &quot;We&quot;, Zamyatin imagines a society governed by a &quot;Single State&quot;. It is about a people who live under eternal surveillance. No one has a name, just alphanumeric IDs. Men have acronyms that begin with consonants, while women have acronyms that begin with vowels. Sexual relationships are non-monogamous, defined by standards, and only women with a certain body type can reproduce. There are neither fathers nor mothers. There is also a remake by HBO.&nbsp;The Handmaid&#39;s Tale,&nbsp;by Margaret AtwoodThe dystopian novel The Handmaid&#39;s Tale, by Margaret Atwood, takes place in the very near future and is set in a republic where newspapers, magazines, books, and films no longer exist. Universities went extinct. Also, there are no lawyers since nobody has the right to defend themselves. Citizens considered criminals are shot and hung dead on the Wall, in a public square, to serve as example while their bodies rot in plain sight. To deserve such a fate, not much is required, for example, only the fact of singing any song that contains words prohibited by the regime, such as &ldquo;freedom&rdquo; is enough. In this theocratic and totalitarian state, women are the preferred victims, annulled by unprecedented oppression. The name of this republic is Gilead, but it was once the United States of America.The women of Gilead have no rights. They are divided into categories, each with a very specific role in the state. Offred was given the rank of handmaiden, which means belonging to the government and existing solely to breed. This is because a large number of people became sterile after a nuclear catastrophe. The women turned into handmaidens are handed over to a high-ranking married man in the army and forced to have sexual intercourse until they get pregnant. After giving birth, they nurse the baby for a few months until they are handed over to another man. The name Offred given to the main character means &ldquo;of Fred&rdquo;, that is, belongs to a man called Fred.Babies become properties of the couples who enslaved the handmaids. Thus, throughout her life, a handmaiden may have several owners, and therefore several names: Ofglen, Ofcharles, and Ofwayne&hellip;The Handmaid&#39;s Tale was adapted for television. Huxley is certainly one of the greatest writers in history, and knowing what is considered by many to be his greatest work is a must for any writer.&nbsp;&nbsp;1984&nbsp;by George Orwell1984&nbsp;is probably George Orwell&#39;s Mona Lisa.&nbsp;He is an excellent author and has another classic dystopia: the also famous &quot;The Animal Farm&quot;, but 1984 is still his most cult work.&nbsp;In this artwork, Orwell brings a society divided into three territories constantly at war. This context allows him to generate one of his main criticisms: wars are created to keep a society satisfied with unlimited spending. References shape our character and style, and the combination of different references and social experiences shapes each writer&#39;s individual way of producing content.Today, almost nothing that is produced is 100% original.
